Information We Collect

Information You Provide Through the App

When you use Common Branch, we may collect:

• a private display name you choose, or a randomly generated display name;
• messages you voluntarily submit through the in-app Report an Issue form; and
• information you send if you contact us by email.

Display names are not public and are not used to identify or contact you. Please do not use your real name or include personal information in a display name or issue report.

Information Collected Automatically

We collect the limited information needed to operate the game:

• a randomly generated anonymous player identifier;
• a securely hashed version of the anonymous credential used to restore and protect access to game progress;
• game activity and progress, including guesses, puzzle results, statistics, streaks, and animals added to the player's collection;
• the app version and submission time associated with an issue report; and
• limited technical request information used for reliability and security, such as a request identifier, request path, response status, duration, and rate-limit result.

The app stores the raw anonymous credential in the iPhone Keychain. Our server stores only a cryptographic hash of that credential.

An Internet Protocol (IP) address may be processed temporarily when a new anonymous player is created to prevent abuse and enforce rate limits. Our application logs do not store IP addresses, credentials, display names, game request contents, or issue-report messages.

Information We Do Not Collect

Common Branch does not require an account and does not collect:

• an email address or telephone number as part of normal app use;
• contacts, precise location, photos, camera, or microphone data;
• payment-card or purchase information;
• advertising identifiers;
• data for behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking; or
• information through a third-party analytics SDK.

If you contact us by email, your email address and the contents of your message will be processed so we can respond.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• provide, operate, and maintain Common Branch;
• save and restore anonymous game progress;
• calculate puzzle results, statistics, and collection entries;
• review issue reports and improve the accuracy of the app's content;
• respond to support and privacy requests; and
• protect the security, integrity, and reliability of the service.

We do not use information collected through Common Branch for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

How We Share Information

We may share or disclose information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers. Hosting, database, infrastructure, and storage providers process information on our behalf as needed to operate Common Branch. They may use that information only to provide services to us and must protect it appropriately.
• Legal or safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, protect our rights, or address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
• Business transfers. Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business.

We do not sell personal information.

Analytics and Tracking

Common Branch does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking at launch.

We use only the game records and limited operational information described in this policy to operate, secure, and understand the basic functioning of the service.

Notifications

Common Branch may offer an optional local notification to remind you when a new daily puzzle is available. Notification permission is optional and can be changed in your device settings. Denying notification permission does not prevent you from using the app.

The reminder is scheduled on your device. Common Branch does not collect a push-notification token for this feature.

Data Retention

We retain information only for the periods described below:

• Anonymous player record, display name, game progress, statistics, and collection: while the service operates, unless deletion is requested.
• Issue reports: up to 12 months after submission.
• Operational application logs: up to 30 days.
• Temporary IP-based player-creation rate-limit records: up to 15 minutes.
• Support and privacy emails: for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep an appropriate record of the request, and comply with legal obligations.

We may retain information longer when reasonably necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the security and integrity of the service. Where appropriate, we may de-identify information instead of deleting it.

Your Choices and Privacy Requests

You can:

• change your private display name in the app;
• control notification permission in your device settings; and
• request access to or deletion of your anonymous player information by emailing us at colin@arcworkstech.com.

Because Common Branch does not use accounts or collect an email address during normal use, we may ask for the anonymous player identifier shown in the app or other limited information needed to locate the correct record. If the anonymous credential or identifier has been lost, we may be unable to locate the relevant record.

Deleting the app does not by itself delete server-side game progress. If the credential stored in the iPhone Keychain is removed or lost, the app may no longer be able to restore that progress.

Children's Privacy

Common Branch is an educational game that may be used by children under 13. Children under 13 should use the app with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

We minimize the information used by the app. We do not ask children for their real name, email address, telephone number, location, contacts, photos, or other sensitive information. Anonymous identifiers are used only to operate, secure, and personalize the game, including saving progress. Display names and game progress are private and are not made publicly available.

A child under 13 should not enter a real name or other personal information in a display name or issue report. Children under 13 should ask a parent or guardian to submit an issue report or contact us on their behalf.

A parent or guardian may contact us to:

• ask what information we maintain about their child;
• request access to or deletion of that information; or
• refuse further collection or use of that information.

We may need the anonymous player identifier shown in the app to locate the record. If a parent refuses further collection that is necessary to provide the network-connected game, the child may no longer be able to use the service.

Common Branch does not condition a child's participation on providing more information than is reasonably necessary to operate the game.

International Processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such processing.

Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect information processed through Common Branch. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
